Oxygen Therapy

Complete Oxygen Program

You want to make it all the way to your goal, but to get to the finish line, you're going to need endurance. You're going to need resilience. In essence, you're going to need to be in the best overall health possible. That's why in an age of air pollution and chemically treated food and water, The Windhawk offers oxygen therapy to detoxify the body, boost the immune system, combat oxygen deficiency and improve the efficiency of workouts.

Supplemental Oxygen

For the serious athlete in training, we get you past that plateau with supplemental oxygen that can be used in combination with either the stationary bicycle or the treadmill. Research shows that breathing in supplemental oxygen allows you to increase your capacity for strenuous exercise and achieve higher intensity workouts. Even better, you can sustain a red-hot maximal performance for longer periods of time.

Consider the following evidence. A 2001 study found that supplemental oxygen allowed cyclists to complete a full workout at a seemingly unattainable 95% intensity level. After six weeks of "hyperoxic" training, endurance levels increased by 32% and heart rates during high-intensity cycling decreased by around five beats per minute. Amazingly, the athletes achieved these gains without having to spend any more time training.

Oxygen Steam Bath

Steam baths have been used to promote health for thousands of years by cultures as disparate as the Turks and the Finns. By mimicking the beneficial effects of a fever, the artificial"hyperthermia" achieved by steam therapy stimulates the immune system and either kills or slows the growth of a host of viruses and bacteria. For example, at 106 degrees, the bacterium responsible for pneumonia dies.

Additionally, humid heat loosens muscles, increases blood circulation, relieves pain, speeds healing and cranks up the metabolism, resulting in a loss of 200-450 calories in a 20-minute session. It also triggers a natural detoxification process by opening the pores and increasing perspiration. In fact, the skin is sometimes called the third kidney** as it is estimated that as much as 30% of bodily wastes are eliminated through sweating.

You can see why this would be an ideal environment for adding oxygen. With the pores already open, the oxygen can be easily absorbed into the bloodstream. This helps to oxidize toxins such as pesticides so that they can be removed from the body and allows for oxygenation of all of the tissues, organs and cells. Thus, a big drink of oxygen in an oxygen-deficient world is just one more benefit to this remarkable, time-tested therapy.
